Mission Statement

Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian organization whose goal is to demonstrate the Love of Jesus Christ by providing food and other essential relief supplies to low-income families throughout McDowell and Wyoming County West Virginia.

 

Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank Inc. has served as a nonprofit food ministry since 1997 at it's Roderfield Location. The Kimball location was established in May 2002. Since the launch of the Kimball Food Bank Distribution site, Five Loaves and Two fishes food bank has distributed well over five million pounds of food. Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank Inc. currently has on file about 10,000 individuals who have applied for a Food Bank card to receive food, this represents about 3,300 families in McDowell and Wyoming County West Virginia. Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank provides staple food items including Produce, canned goods and other ready-to-eat items. Many families in McDowell and Wyoming County WV live on fixed income and find it hard to purchase the things needed to survive. Many families are doing without medication to buy food items or cloths for children.

  About The Ministry

Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank Inc. provides a variety of food, free-of-charge, to qualified individuals, organizations and church food pantries throughout the region. The ministry distributes food and other supplies to help people in need throughout McDowell and Wyoming county West Virginia. Ministries receive pre-scheduled times to pick up food for their ministry

Volunteers

Volunteers are sorting and boxing food for ministry pick-up. Volunteers are needed each day at the Food Bank, many different jobs are available, answering the phone, directing people to the right place for emergency food orders, cleaning, data entry on computer, all types of paper work, inventory, scheduling. outside and inside maintenance.
